117th Infantry Regiment
Modern Era, United States, Infantry
The 117th Infantry Regiment belongs to the Army's modern preserved lineage system and reflects continuity of unit identity through major organizational change. It forms part of the broad structure that supported mobilization and historical memory in the twentieth century.
Its story is chiefly carried through lineage and honors rather than through one continuous independent regimental field career.
The 117th Infantry remains part of the Army's larger institutional heritage.
