115th Infantry Regiment
Modern Era, United States, Infantry
The 115th Infantry Regiment is part of the Army's higher-numbered regimental system, where unit names and honors were preserved even as tactical organization evolved. It reflects the Army's long-term need for historical continuity and expansion depth.
Like many comparable regiments, the 115th Infantry is known more through lineage than through a continuously active independent field history.
Its preserved identity contributes to the Army's wider institutional and historical record.
